How do you get a fairy to live with you?
To help attract fairies to your little house leave shiny rocks or treats for them. Fairies love when we leave treats. You can find flowers with nectar, honey, or berries to leave as offerings.
What do fairies like to eat and drink?
In ancient Ireland, the offerings left out for our fae friends were usually a bowl of milk or freshly churned butter. As time moved on, the garden fairies began to experience growth in eating sweets and cakes, because of their plentiful and boundless appetites.
Where do fairies like to be?
Choose a spot in nature. While your child may be tempted to build a tiny fairy house in their bedroom, fairies definitely prefer living outside. They are secretive creatures (which is why you don't see them all the time), so pick a spot that's a bit hidden, especially from humans.

Several herbs, especially St. -John's-wort and yarrow, are potent against fairies, and hawthorn trees, foxglove, and groundsel are so dear to them that abuse of these plants may bring retribution.

Longevity: The average lifespan of a Fairy is between 1000 to 1500 years. They do not appear to physically age and they never suffer from illness.
What language do fairies speak?
It follows then that the fairies speak the local language or, even dialect. They speak Gaelic in the Highlands, Welsh in Wales and English in England- and going further an Exmoor fairy sounds just like a Somerset peasant (Ruth Tongue, County Folklore, vol. VIII, p. 117).
