What does the Common Chaffinch look like?

The male chaffinch is unmistakeably handsome with a blue-grey cap, pink cheeks and breast and a reddish-brown mantle. Females and juveniles are much duller, consisting of grey-brown upper-parts and dull greyish-white underparts. All chaffinches, however, have distinct wing bars.

What do chaffinches look like? Male chaffinches are colourful birds with an orange-pink breast and cheeks, grey-blue cap and orange-brown back. Females are much duller brown with hints of green and yellow. Size-wise they are slightly larger than a robin.
